Established in 2021

Hello, my name is Laura Rear, DNP, NP-C, CFNMP and I am excited to announce my new wellness clinic. I have a passion for living a healthy lifestyle and love sharing my knowledge to support others on their wellness journey.

My journey has allowed me a greater appreciation of the human body. When given the right ingredients, our bodies have the amazing ability to heal. Unfortunately, we live in a very toxic world. From toxins in the environment, in our foods, in household cleaning supplies to cosmetics, it is no wonder most people are overwhelmed with chronic inflammation, and thus, chronic disease. Add in chronic stress, especially over the last few years, and we have a recipe for disaster.

While it can be overwhelming to think about good health when the body is struggling to maintain optimal homeostasis, it is very rewarding when we commit to a healthier lifestyle. Let me walk with you on your journey to wellness.

So a little about me. I am a family nurse practitioner with my doctorate in nursing practice. I am also a certified Functional and Nutritional Medicine Practitioner (CFNMP) through the American Academy of Functional Health. I am married to a very supportive and kind husband and have two wonderful adult children and I have three dogs. I even became a grandmother during the Covid-19 pandemic.  We love the outdoors from hiking to camping to boating, to fishing; we love to do it all!

I have experience in family medicine, neurology, and genetics. My current practice utilizes a functional medicine approach to care. My goal is to discover the root of the underlying problem instead of trying to fix a symptom with a pharmaceutical solution. There is a role for prescription medications and I do prescribe them. However, with every patient encounter, the patient is well informed of all available options and we decide together what treatment plan is best for them. We are surrounded by “medicine” each time we venture out into nature and I love incorporating herbal remedies into treatment plans when appropriate and when desired. I am not here to “sell” you on a certain medication or treatment idea. I am here to work with you in hopes of finding real health and happiness.

I decided not to establish a brick-and-mortar practice to keep overhead charges low with the ability to spend several hours with a patient if needed. My practice consists of home visits for those within 100 miles of Helena Montana and telemedicine for those within the states I am licensed and outside of the Helena area. While home visits are not the status quo and may seem strange at first, it allows the ability for me to really get to know the person I am treating and their living environments. It also eliminates the need to pack up the children and sit in a clinic waiting room. This is especially comforting when there is a sick child or a sick family member.

I want to welcome each and every one of you to my practice. I am here for a single encounter to a lifetime of care. Together we will thrive as healthy people and communities. Thank you and I look forward to meeting with you soon.

Understanding Payment Options

Rocky Mountain Health and Healing offers two different types of payment options. Please see below to determine what type of payment works best for your needs. If you have any questions regarding the payment options, we are happy to discuss them prior to your appointment. If you decide on one type and want to change your mind, you will have a week from the appointment to make changes. Once payment is made, the type of payment cannot be changed.

Payment Option 1:

This is a pay as you go structure. The initial appointment is $200, and any follow up appointment is $100. This type of appointment is best for a second opinion or a condition that is not going to require frequent follow up, lab work, imaging, or frequent communication with providers / staff. This type of payment does not include the ability to text the provider, call with multiple questions, send in refills on medications, call or text with a symptom and the desire for a prescription / labs / imaging, or email with multiple questions. If there are questions about the treatment plan, this will be included in the $200 consult fee if those questions are within a week of initial appointment. An additional appointment ($100) will be needed for any lab work review and coordinated treatment plan if lab work is ordered at the initial appointment.

If a person is on a non-controlled prescription and is stable with their dose, refills will be provided at the initial $200 consult for one year. A follow-up appointment will be required yearly for continued refills. If a dose change is warranted, a follow up appointment will be required. If lab work is required, a follow up appointment will be required to review the lab work, discuss a dose change, or change the initial treatment plan.

This plan does not include any discounts on functional medicine lab work (i.e. OAT, mycotoxin testing, heavy metals, hormone, etc.). It does not include discounted lab work from St. Peter’s. This plan does not include discounts on any supplements. No discount on biofeedback (3x/week for 4 weeks is $500; 5x/week for 4 weeks is $700). No discount on PES Detox Foot spas ($70 vs $35).

These rules are in place to protect Rocky Mountain Health and Healing staff from burn out and to respect the time, knowledge, and expertise of providers/staff.

Payment Option 2:

This is Direct Primary Care (DPC), which is the membership option. A minimum of a 3-month commitment is required for the DPC option. This can be paid monthly or all at once. To terminate the membership, either party must give at least a 30-day ‘ notice (in writing is preferred).

The fees are as follows:

  • Individual member: $100/month
  • Couple: $120/month
  • Family: $160/month for a family of 4; each additional dependent (up to age 26 years) will be charged $30/month

Services provided:

  • Unlimited texting, emailing, phone calls. Many symptoms can be managed by a phone call or telemedicine visit and will occur when needed. Weekend and evening communication is available. However, it is impossible for someone to be available 24 hours per day. Additionally, if providers/staff are on vacation or attending continuing education seminars, a call back may be extended (but will still occur that day).
  • Refills of controlled substances once per month with a phone call consult to ensure the patient is stable on the dosing.
  • Unlimited telemedicine visits
  • Home visits that will be at least 1 hour in duration (initial visit is usually at least 2 hours):
  • Individual: 1 home visit per month, which includes a full head to toe examination
  • Couple: 2 home visits per month, which includes full head to toe examinations
  • Family: 4 home visits per month, which includes full head to toe examinations
  • 50% off PES Detox Foot spas ($35 vs $70)
  • Significantly reduced lab costs through St. Peter’s Health. Can use private health insurance to pay for labs if applicable.
  • Benefis Helena Imaging offers a significant reduction in their imaging services for cash pay customers. Can use private insurance to pay for imaging if applicable.
  • Discounted supplements (you pay what Rocky Mountain Health and Healing pays)
  • Discounted functional medicine testing (i.e. OAT, mycotoxins, heavy metal, hormone, etc.). You pay what Rocky Mountain Health and Healing pays.
  • Discounted biofeedback scans/treatment:
  • Treatment for 3x/weeks for 4 week ($300)
  • Treatment for 5x/week for 4 weeks ($500)

Services not provided:

  • Pap smears/pelvic examinations

  • Covid testing or other bacterial/viral testing
  • Vaccinations
  • Implantable birth control
